Shielded notes
A note can move in public, or it can move where only the parties can read it.
A shielded note is how value moves on Zelum. It carries a private amount, a memo you chose, and a destination. The address looks like zvm1. The machine can run against the note. The public index can say that a seal occurred.
Public and shielded
A transfer may be public. The explorer shows it. A transfer may be shielded. Parties to the note can read it, and everyone else sees the seal. Both kinds of transfer are the same machine. The difference is what the note is willing to show.
What you hold
- An amount, held inside the note.
- A memo, written by the sender.
- A destination that reads as an address.
- A seal the chain can accept without opening the note.
