Private settlement
The ledger stays quiet. Counterparties read their notes. The chain reads the seal.
Private settlement is the path from a shielded note to a closed block. The machine executes. Zcash settles. Observers can see that the ledger moved. Counterparties can see what their notes entitle them to see. The path between those two views stays with the note.
A quiet ledger
Quiet is the operating condition. The chain carries commitments, names, and hashes. It leaves the working state inside the note. Your notes already have a path. Zelum is the machine that will take them there without narrating them.
From note to seal
A transfer begins as a note. A contract begins as a source. Both end as a seal at a height. That shared ending is settlement: one rule for value and for programs, on an encrypted EVM, on Zcash.
